Report from Parish Plan Stage 2 Launch held Saturday, 13th October 2012
A copy of the Parish Plan Stage 2 Report and Action Plan has now been delivered to every house in the village and on Saturday, 13 October, more than 70 parishioners attended a public meeting in the Village Hall to hear a presentation by the Parish Plan Steering Group. John Nichols, the Chairman of the Steering Group, gave a comprehensive review of the Plan, explaining how the recommendations in each section had been developed from the data recorded in the Stage1 survey report and how these might be taken forward to become specific, practical proposals.
The meeting gave unanimous support to the adoption of the Plan and its further development and congratulated the Steering Group on the quality of the Report and the work carried out so far.
The next stage will be undertaken by a series of working parties drawn from the focus groups and new volunteers, who will report directly to the village twice yearly. Work which involves the Parish Council must be held in abeyance for the time being, following the recent resignation of all the councillors. However, it is felt that there are plenty of tasks which the working parties can progress in the meantime whilst that situation is resolved.
The success of the Plan will depend on the effectiveness of these working parties and volunteers are needed here. Some people have already registered their interest but more are required. If you feel you could contribute to the development of the Plan your help will be much appreciated by the Steering Group.
Recruits will be welcomed to the working parties responsible for Planning, Housing, Traffic, Environment, Energy generation, Health and Business. Please contact Vivien Hunt, Secretary of the Steering Group if you are interested in doing a very worthwhile job on behalf of the village.
