Preparations for this year’s Village Fete are well underway and your Fete Committee this year consists of Gordon Beard (724143), Liz Green & Peter Wagstaff (724889), Lorry Haslegrave (07845 912867), David Neeves (722556) and Esther and Phil Smith (725782). There will be traditional stalls, wonderful food, refreshments, live music and a silent disco, and games for all ages.
Fete programmes can be bought in advance from the Tuck Shop, the Parish Lantern, the Tea Shed, and the Black Dog Deli from 12 August. This year, the Fete programmes will be numbered and the lucky programme number will win £100. Everything you need to know about Fete day is in the programme; copies available from 12 August at the Tuck Shop, the Parish Lantern, the Tea Shed, and the Black Dog Deli.
The front page artwork for the programme is by Helen Riches, who has kindly donated the original to raise funds in a silent auction. Bids can be submitted on the day or in advance by emailing both Liz Green liz.green@mac.com and Sheila Parry parry.sheila@gmail.com.
Huge thanks to those who have already volunteered. Volunteers are still urgently needed to assist with setting up the Fete on Friday, 25 August, from 17.00, and on Saturday morning. Please contact David or Gordon if you are able to help. Lorry would love cakes and baked goods for the cafe.
Donations are needed for the stalls: white elephant, books, bottle tombola, kitchenware, cakes and preserves, plants, kids stuff, nearly new clothing, and accessories, pictures and prints. Cakes and baked goods are also needed for the Village Hall Cafe. Thanks in advance for your generous support. Profits from all Fete activities will, as in previous years, be divided equally between St Andrew’s Church and our Village Hall.
Please remember the fete is a CASH ONLY event. The event gets under way with the Fun Dog Show at 11.30. Dog Show registration forms will be available before the day from the Walberswick Tuck Shop (Co-op). Dogs entered at their owners’ risk.
