Seaweed Farm proposed off-shore from Walberswick - your chance to comment
The Parish Council has very recently become aware that a consultation is currently underway for a Seaweed Farm offshore from Walberswick. The applicant is currently seeking a licence from the Marine Management Organisation for development of a 120,000 sq metre Seaweed Farm (600 metres x 200 metres). The proposed position is 3/4 mile South of the Southwold Harbour Entrance and 1/2 mile off-shore.
The application is open for public comment until Friday 4th February 2022. Walberswick Parish Council will be formally commenting in due course but in the meantime individuals and local organisations are also encourageed to have their say.
