Walberswick Annual Parish Meeting - 14th September 2021, 7PM, Village Hall
All residents of Walberswick are cordially invited to attend an Annual Parish Meeting in Walberswick, which will take place on 14th September 2021 at 7PM in the Village Hall. The Annual Parish Meeting is the meeting where the Parish Council report to its electorate on what it has accomplished in the preceding year; electors and the public are invited to hear reports from the Parish Council Chairman, community groups and any organisation that is based in Walberswick and wishes to speak. This is a relatively informal event for the community and by law must be held at least once per year in the month of May.
Given all the Covid restrictions that were still in place in May this year, the Annual Parish Meeting was conducted in very limited form (via Zoom) on 6th May and a committment was made in that meeting to hold another meeting on 14th September, when it was hoped it be would be possible to hold a more "normal" meeting (it is perfectly fine to hold more that one Parish Meeting per year).
This is an opportunity for the public to express their opinions on what the council are doing and to hear from some of the many organisations that operate in Walberswick.
As is required, the meeting will be chaired by the Chairman of the Parish Council (Cllr. Andrew Lewis) and the clerk of the Parish Council (Mark Knight) will be present to take the minutes. The minutes of meetings of the Parish Meetings are kept separately from those of the parish council.
While the Annual Parish Meeting is open to the public, only registered electors for the Parish can speak and vote on any proposal.
